Yelena McElwain serves as Burton Policy’s Data Scientist. Yelena provides key insights from complex health care data to support policy decisions and care improvements. She has 10 years of experience working with all aspects of data, from data integration and ETL to reporting and analytics. Through Burton Policy Consulting, Yelena supports CRISP, Maryland's Health Information Exchange, by designing and developing reports that quickly synthesize large amounts of information into one platform, providing clients with easy access to data insights.
Prior to joining Burton Policy, Yelena worked as a consultant at Kaiser Permanente where she delivered quality analytics for a major health care database redesign. She was also employed at Berkeley Research Group where she produced key analytics for several major hospital performance improvement projects. Yelena has a Bachelor’s in Economics from the University of Chicago.
